How to write a Bio, that get you booked !
Casting teams read your bio in under ten seconds. Most artists spend those seconds saying nothing.
"Passionate performer with a love for the arts" could describe anyone. A bio that books you answers three questions fast: what do you do, what have you done, and why should we call you?
The three-line formula
Line one: your craft and style, in plain words. "Kathak dancer and choreographer based in Mumbai."
Line two: proof. Shows, brands, films, stages, followers, anything real and recent. "Performed at 40+ weddings and corporate events across India."
Line three: how to work with you. "Available for stage shows, music videos and brand shoots."
Three things to cut today
Cut the adjectives (talented, passionate, versatile). Cut your life story before age 15. Cut anything a casting director cannot verify or picture.
Write it once, read it aloud, and trim it until it sounds like you on your best day. Then put it on your profile and keep it updated after every booking.
